The Castillo de San Cristobal welcomes you to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The new Carnival Celebration (5,347 passengers) docks at the Port of San Juan.
Old San Juan.

Chongae and I know the Caribbean very well. The Puerto Rican government offered a 0% tax saving incentive program for high-net-worth individuals to create a domicile on the island to help stimulate the economy. It was the perfect opportunity for me to reward my employees and further accelerate my philanthropy as I planned the future acquisition of my company, PsychCare. We lived in the community of Dorado Beach from 2015-2020.

We loved Puerto Rico so much that we decided to invest in a hotel. Learn more here: New boutique luxury resort set to open in Old San Juan: Travel Weekly

As the soft opening is scheduled soon, we thought it would be a great time to catch up on the progress.

Location, location, location is the mantra in real estate and this property has a great location. Plaza Colon (the plaza directly in front of the hotel) is the main thoroughfare for entry into Old San Juan where cruise passengers congregate. The Cafe at Alma will serve this foot traffic with locally sourced coffee and tapas. James Beard recognized chiefs Jose Enrique and Jose Mendin will have two onsite restaurants, one being the only rooftop location in Old San Juan. And Alma will be the only restaurant in Old San Juan permitted for valet parking. A great relief for someone who is familiar with trying to find a parking space in Old San Juan! And Eric shared that final permitting is in process to have the outside seating service occupy part of Plaza Colon.

A great way to finish our journey of 37,809 nautical miles!

As we prepare to return to Florida our sincere appreciation to those who have shared the first part of this journey with us and for your many encouraging comments. We plan to spend the summer months with our children and grandchildren and greet the new twin arrivals in July in Colorado. Hope for Today is a three-year plan to see God’s hand at work around the world so as the saying goes, with God’s help, “we’ve only just begun”. We support some great charitable organizations in Central Florida so we will introduce you to them during the summer

We leave for Seoul, South Korea on September 19th and will update you more about our plans for Thailand, Taipel, and Malaysia in the coming months.

And as always,

Thanks for travelling with us.

I have a companion accompanying me home.
