December 31, 2025

For years I have hosted 18-wheel Feed the Children events here in Central Florida distributing household essentials, non-perishable food, toys, and handmade blankets to families from our surrounding communities. Here are some photos from this year’s event.

My goal was to mentor charitable giving but as important was to create an opportunity for Central Florida families to minister together. In the early years, I used public locations for distribution but in the last number of years I have used a local Church/School as the distribution site.

As a parent, grandparent, you assume a leadership role in your family. It is important for you to create “coworking” environments with your children and grandchildren. I believe children may not always be good at listening to their parents, but they have never failed to imitate them. (Look at the photo of some of even the youngest children posing with their parents in front of the Feed the Children truck above.) Having your family working together and watching the appreciation of kindness leaves lasting memories that are hard to erase. It brings me great joy to see my children and grandchildren together caring for others and allows me to know that I have passed on the “giving baton” successfully.

This year I encourage you to participate with your family members in some of the many opportunities that are available in your own communities to learn how to be a “cheerful giver”.

There is a time to sow and a time to reap. Let this year be a sweet season of your life where you can share the harvest with others.

There is no better way to create family memories together.

Wishing you A Most Blessed New Year!
